MUCKLESHOOT TRIBAL TRANSIT
TITLE VI POLICY STATEMENT
As a recipient of federal funds, Muckleshoot Tribal Transit is subject to the requirements and provisions of the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states: “No person shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity provided by Muckleshoot Tribal Transit.” Further, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, no entity shall discriminate against an individual with a physical or mental disability in connection with the provision of transportation service. Muckleshoot Tribal Transit and its management are committed to complying with the requirements of Title VI in all of its federally funded programs and activities. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with Management of Muckleshoot Tribal Transit. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with Muckleshoot Tribal Transit within 180 days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence. At a minimum, the complaint should include the following information:
- Name, mailing address, and how to contact complainant (i.e. telephone, email address, etc.).
- How, when, where, and why complainant alleges s/he were discriminated against. Include the location, names, and contact information of any witnesses.
- Other significant information.
